Palam Vihar residents in panic after MCG demolition notices


Around 25 families are in panic at Palam Vihar after receiving a sudden intimation from officials of the Municipal Corporation of Gurugram (MCG) on demolition of parts of their houses. The MCG and officials of district revenue department claimed to have found that portions of these houses are encroaching onto a space earmarked for a proposed railway overbridge at Bazgera Crossing between Palam Vihar and New Palam Vihar. Palam Vihar is a licensed colony developed by private builder Ansal API. The owners of the affected houses and members of residents’ welfare association (RWA), Palam Vihar, met Anu Sheokand, joint commissioner, MCG, and handed a memorandum highlighting their concerns on Friday.
