Presidential Spokesperson Salvadaor Panelo made the statement after the World Economic Forum’s Global Gender Gap Index placed the Philippines at the top of the said list. “The Palace welcomes the World Economic Forum (WEF)’s Global Gender Gap Index placing the Philippines as the most gender equal nation in Asia,” he said. The Philippines received high Global Gender Gap scores in the areas of educational attainment where it ranked first; political empowerment, rank 13; and economic participation, and opportunity, rank 14.
