Pakistan received FDI of US $ 709.3 million in 2014-15, which was 58.2 per cent less than the FDI received in the preceding fiscal year, the report said. Almost half of the total FDI that Pakistan received in the last fiscal year originated from China alone. According to the SBP report, China has emerged as a dominant investor because of its interest in power projects. FDI from China amounted to US $593.9 million in 2015-16, which is up 131.3% from 2014-15 and constitutes 46.3% of the total FDI Pakistan received over the entire fiscal year. Largest contributor to the FDI during 2014-15 was the US (US $ 238.7 million), followed by China (US $ 229.5 million) and United Arab Emirates (US $ 222.4 million), it said.
