ISLAMABAD: Defence Minister Khurram Dastgir said that Pakistan would not provide air defence to Saudi Arab in the latter’s ongoing tussle with Yemen. While talking on a private TV channel, Dastgir said that Pakistani troops were sent to Saudi Arab after the rules of engagement were clarified. They were sent there to train and advise the Saudi forces, he added. He said that that Saudi forces needed training as the country was under repeated missile attacks by the Houthi rebels of Yemen. He further said that Pakistan had only sent its troops to train and advise Saudi forces and would not provide air defence.
