High commissioner-designate Imran Ahmed Siddiqui arrived in Dhaka recently to take charge of the mission, the spokesperson of the Pakistan High Commission, Muhammad Aurangzeb, told Dhaka Tribune. "We hope the new high commissioner will be able to present his credentials soon to begin his new assignment," he said. Siddiqui, who before his appointment as high commissioner was his country’s consul general in Toronto, will replace Rafiuzzaman Siddiqui, who retired on February 17, 2018Soon after the departure of Rafiuzzaman Siddiqui, the government of Pakistan nominated Saqlain Syedah as Pakistan’s new high commissioner in early March 2018. Accordingly, Pakistan nominated Imran Siddiqui.
