The media reports further claimed Indian diplomat Surjeet Singh, who was expelled by Pakistan last week, was part of the same ring. The move came hours after India arrested and expelled Mehmood Akhtar, an official of the Pakistan High Commission, on charges of obtaining secret documents and information about troop deployments. In New Delhi, external affairs ministry spokesman Vikas Swarup told Reuters the ministry was “aware” of the media reports.
