Pakistan ex-Prime Minister Imran Khan bailed out, gets protective bail in 8 terrorism, 1 civil cases

Pakistan’s Supreme Court on Friday granted protective bail to Imran Khan in eight terrorist investigations and a civil case, but hours later another court ruled against the former prime minister until March 18 in a corruption case. Khan, 70, the leader of the Pakistan Teliku-e-Insaf (PTI) party, used a bulletproof vehicle to travel to the Lahore High Court (LHC) and sought bail in nine separate cases. According to reports, Khan was released on bail for five crimes in Islamabad by 24 March and was released until 27 March for three cases in Lahore. Meanwhile, Judge Saleem was said to have heard Khan’s bail application in a civil case filed against him. Since his downfall, Khan has called for new elections to remove the “import regime” of Prime Minister Shebaz Sharif.
