Pakistan World Cup squad calls on premier

ISLAMABAD: Prime Minister Imran Khan on Friday met with Pakistani squad for the upcoming ICC Cricket World Cup at the PM Office in Islamabad. The meeting also had Pakistan Cricket Board (PCB) Chairman Ehsan Mani, Coach Mickey Arthur and Chief Selector Inzamam-ul-Haq in attendance. Reportedly, the premier also advised the players on preparing for the World Cup and expressed his confidence in their abilities. Quick Mohammad Amir, the hero of Pakistan’s previous triumph in an ICC tournament, will not play the World Cup in England as things stand. In the absence of experienced Amir, Junaid Khan, Mohammad Hasnain, Shaheen Shah Afridi and Hassan Ali are expected to lead the green pace attack.
