A Sindhi cleric has alleged that a Pakistani Hindu lawmaker known for opposing forced conversions of minorities, is a Research and Analysis Wing (RAW) agent, the news agency ANI reported on Tuesday. Lal Chand Malhi, a legislator nominated in 2013 by cricketer-turned-politician Imran Khan's Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaaf, is "being targeted for his stance against" such conversions, feminist and lawyer Shumaila Hussain Shahani tweeted. Lal Chand Malhi is being targeted for his stance against forced conversions. Each year, forced conversions of many as 1,000 girls - most of them Hindus - take place in Pakistan, the South Asia Partnership-Pakistan says. Earlier this year, Pakistani Hindus were outraged by the alleged kidnapping and conversion of a 16-year-old girl, who on her part insisted that she had only run away with her new Muslim husband, PTI reported.
