(Video first published August 2020)A judge has ordered two opponents of the Westland District Council to take down offensive material they posted online. Anti-council campaigners Anthea Keenan and Geoffrey King were served with a harmful digital communication order after posting offensive material about Hokitika businesswoman Jacquie Grant. Grant told the court the harassment not only involved the online material but also letters to the editor of the local newspaper and a poison-pen campaign. She applied to the court to order the pair to remove the offensive material and issue an apology. Keenan told the court Grant was the one harassing her and King, while King claimed Grant was working with the council to silence critics.
