A couple was rescued by rope from a 50-foot ravine in Cottonwood Park in Nelson, B.C., Friday night. Around 8 p.m. PT, Nelson Fire Rescue responded after hearing reports of a fall into a ravine above Cottonwood Falls, in a park along Cottonwood Creek just inside the city. Rescuers found two injured people in the creek about 50 feet below the road. Cottonwood Falls Park in Nelson, B.C., is framed around Cottonwood Creek right inside the city. "As challenging as the location was... rescue crews were fortunate that the water levels were low," said Assistant Fire Chief Michael Daloise in a press release.
