MANILA, Philippines — The Philippine Atmospheric, Geophysical and Astronomical Services Administration (Pagasa) said heavy rains may be experienced in some parts of Luzon and Mindanao on Wednesday night. The forecast of heavy rain showers in some provinces of Luzon and Mindanao comes despite “dangerous” heat index reported in some parts of the country. A heat index of 41°C or higher is considered to be in the “danger” level and poses health risks, according to Pagasa. The highest heat index in the country on Tuesday was reported in Dagupan City, Pangasinan at 44.6°C. Fourteen other areas in the country experienced dangerous heat index on Tuesday.
