Congress's Member of Parliament Shashi Tharoor expressed his support for the film, when he spoke yesterday at the Tata Lit Fest in Mumbai. Tharoor questioned their sense of pride and honour when it was being "trampled upon" by the British before Independence. Facing criticism for his attack, Tharoor clarified on social media that he wasn't opposed to the Rajput community's opposition to the film. Jyotiraditya Scindia advised Tharoor to "brush up" on his history and learn the role the Maharajas played during the British rule. Smriti Irani , who had a different point of view back then, has taken a U-turn and made things political, Gohil claimed.
