Unbeaten Terence Crawford won his first fight of 2020 by defending his WBO welterweight title with a stunning fourth-round knockout of Kell Brook in Las Vegas. Shaking off the effects of a long layoff due to the Covid-19 epidemic, American Crawford beat Brook to the punch with a right jab that sent the challenger stumbling back into the ropes at the MGM Grand Hotel and Casino. The 33-year-old then finished the Englishman off with a chopping right and a flurry of short lefts that prompted referee Tony Weeks to stop the fight. Filipino great Manny Pacquiao most likely is his next opponent after the pandemic scuttled plans for a fight this year. Crawford said the circumstances had now changed, and he would reopen talks with Pacquiao for a fight in the Middle East in the first half of next year.
