Pac-12 Conference Signs Deal With Alibaba Group For China Distribution

The Pac-12 Conference has signed a deal with Alibaba Group that provides Alibaba Group with the right to stream games in China across linear and digital channels through 2024. Alibaba will have the ability to distribute 175 live Pac-12 Networks events, including football and men's basketball, annually throughout China. “Expanding global fan interest in our conference and member universities through sport, along with providing unique international opportunities for our student-athletes, are at the core of our Pac-12 Global initiative,” said Pac-12 Commissioner Larry Scott. In 2015, it became the first U.S. sports league to host a regular season basketball game in China when the University of Washington competed against the University of Texas in the first Pac-12 China Game. The agreement also extends Alibaba's sponsorship of the annual Pac-12 China Basketball Game through 2020.
