Nasir Khosa withdr­ew his name for interi­m slotISLAMABAD: After withdrawing its earlier nomination for Punjab’s caretaker chief minister slot, the Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) on Thursday put forth two new names for the interim post. The party nominated political scientist and military analyst Dr Hasan Askari Rizvi and former IG Khyber-Pakhtunkhwa (retd) Nasir Durrani for the interim slot. Interim set-up: Nasir Khosa named Punjab caretaker CMCiting ‘immense’ public reaction, PTI had announced the withdrawal of Nasir Mahmood Khosa for the slot of Punjab caretaker chief executive – a move ruthlessly criticised by political opponents and rejected by the Punjab government as unconstitutional. “The interim chief minister should have the consensus of all political parties,” said Khosa on Thursday. He added that ‘propaganda’ against him has come to light, and said he’s not willing to take up the responsibility of a chief minister under the current circumstances.
