THE Philippine Olympic Committee (POC) has recognized the Philippine National Federation of Polo Players (PNFPP) on Monday as a nonvoting, associate member in light of the polo federation’s performance at the 30th Southeast Asian (SEA) Games in Batangas last December. “We are very glad that polo is now a member of the POC family. We are [very] thankful to POC President and fellow Congressman Abraham Tolentino,” said 1-Pacman party-list Rep. Mikee Romero, who also played polo for the country in the previous SEA Games. And being accepted as an NSA is an honor since polo is played in the Southeast Asian region. If all 13 board members approve the proposals, the amendments will be submitted to the International Olympic Committee for review before presenting them to the general assembly for ratification.
