Philippine National Police (PNP) chief Gen. Camilo Pancratius Cascolan on Monday said police clearance booths would be put up in all SM malls nationwide. Cascolan said the project would help decongest PNP camps and installations “and make this frontline service more accessible to the people.”SM malls will hold soft opening of the booths in its Government Service Centers at SM Mall of Asia in Pasay City, SM Bacoor in Cavite and SM Southmall in Las Piñas. “I am grateful to Mr. Steven Tan, President of SM Supermalls for his approval of the pilot project of National Police Clearance booths in SM Malls during a meeting with the PNP last September 16,” the PNP chief said. Recently, the Department of the Interior and Local Government announced the rollout of the National Police Clearance System (NPCS) where applicants can either register online or at a police station. The NPCS is initially available in 186 police stations.
