Share TweetBy Aaron RecuencoPhilippine National Police (PNP) chief Director General Oscar Albayalde on Thursday ordered all police commanders to be on alert after the Communist Party of the Philippines (CPP) leadership instructed its armed wing, the New People’s Army to intensify attacks against the government. “Our maneuver forces have been put on high alert mode for any possible tactical engagement with CPP/NPA terrorist elements that have been ordered to escalate attacks on government and prized civilian targets,” said Albayalde. Earlier, CPP founding chairman Joma Sison of the Communist Party of the Philippines (CPP) ordered the NPA to step up its tactical offensives against the government. Benigno Durana, PNP spokesman, said Sison’s order only exposed the true intention of the NPA.
