Jose Melencio Nartatez Jr. said the incident should serve as a wake-up call for people who illegally manufacture and sell firecrackers. “You are not only violating the law, but you are also putting innocent lives at risk,” Nartatez said in a statement. “Unfortunately, this incident shows the deadly consequences when the law is ignored.”Nartatez has ordered an investigation to identify and hold accountable the people behind the makeshift factory.
