The Philippine National Police (PNP) deployed to Itogon, Benguet, a 24-man search and rescue platoon from the Special Action Force, to assist in the search for survivors in massive landslides. The SAF unit is equipped with two radar life detectors, harnesses, digging tools and other basic search and rescue equipment.
