QUETTA: Interior and Development Minister Ahsan Iqbal on Thursday responded to opposition parties’ claims that the ruling Pakistan Muslim League-Nawaz (PML-N) has indulged in a National Reconciliation Order-like deal, saying that the federal government’s NRO is the “nation’s revival order”. A new benchmark will be set when the parliament completes its second tenure under the present government’s watch,” added the minister. “Instead of pulling each other’s legs, everyone should work together for the country’s betterment,” said the minister. Lauding the improvement in the country’s law and order situation, the minister said people can now travel from Karachi and Gwadar without fear. On Wednesday, Punjab Chief Minister Shehbaz Sharif had left for Saudi Arabia, triggering speculations about a possibility of another NRO for the Sharif family, as elections are around the corner.
