PMD predicts Rabi ul-Awwal moon on October 7


KARACHI: The Pakistan Meteorological Department (PMD) has predicted there is a “good chance” of sighting the new moon of Rabiul Awwal on the evening of October 7. The new moon will be born on crossing conjunction point at 16:06 PST on October 6 (Wednesday), the weather department said in a statement. The weather is expected to be partly cloudy or cloudy in most parts of the country on the evening of October 7, according to the climate record. A meeting of the Central Ruet-e-Hilal Committee is expected to be held on October 7 for sighting the new moon of Rabi ul-Awwal. The meetings of zonal and district Ruet-e-Hilal committees were also expected to be held for collecting evidence in respect of sighting of the new moon at their respective offices.
