The prime minister said: “Earlier, we decided to declare the two months (April and May) as zero interest months for the borrowers. However, after a discussion we are announcing this package now." “The borrowers’ total interest amount in the last two months stands at Tk16,500 crore. Sheikh Hasina also said that, including these packages, the worth of all the stimulus packages now stands at Tk103,117 crore, which is 3.7% of Bangladesh’s GDP.
