Sheikh Hasina went to China on July 1 for a five-day bilateral state visit at the invitation of her Chinese counterpart Li Keqiang. During her visit, Sheikh Hasina attended the annual meeting of the World Economic Forum (WEF) in Dalian on July 2, and held bilateral talks with Chinese Prime Minister Li Keqiang and met Chinese President Xi Jinping in Beijing on July 4 and 5 respectively. She also had a meeting with Communist Party of China (CPC) Minister for International Affairs Song Tao. During her visit, Bangladesh and China signed nine instruments, including two loan agreements, for further strengthening cooperation on power, water resources, culture and tourism sectors as well as for providing 2500 metric tonnes of rice for the displaced Rohingyas.
