The premier paid homage by placing a wreath at the portrait of the leader in front of Bangabandhu Memorial Museum, in Dhaka’s Dhanmondi, on Sunday morning. Cabinet members, Sheikh Hasina's advisers, parliament members and senior leaders of the Bangladesh Awami League were present there. Later, flanked by the central party leaders of the Awami League, Sheikh Hasina laid another wreath at the portrait of Bangabandhu on behalf of her party, as the president of the Awami League. Later, leaders of the associate bodies of the Awami League and other socio-cultural organizations placed wreaths at the portrait of Bangabandhu as well.
