Sheikh Hasina paid tribute to the martyrs by placing a wreath at the National Memorial in Savar, on Tuesday morning, reports UNB. This was a gesture of profound respect to the memories of the martyrs who sacrificed themselves for the independence of Bangladesh. Flanked by her new cabinet colleagues, Sheikh Hasina placed another wreath at the memorial as Awami League’s president. Advisers to the prime minister, Jatiya Sangsad chief whip, plus Awami League parliament members and central leaders were also present at the occasion. Later, Sheikh Hasina signed the National Memorial’s visitors’ book.
