Prof. Peiris, who is also the Chairman of the ruling SLPP, said that Bangladesh’s stand at the UNHRC underscored excellent bilateral relations between the countries. In spite of nationality and religion not being major issues for the youth of today, the vast majority hadn’t been able to understand the reality, Prof. Peiris said. Reiterating economic, cultural and political relationship between the two countries, Prof Peiris paid a glowing tribute to Premier Sheikh Hasina for taking tangible measures to further strengthen bilateral relations. Forty students received recognition, with those who won first, second and third places given cash awards in addition.
