Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina says the world order has changed in the wake of recent world events, pushing Bangladesh to form closer bonds with its neighbours. Regarding her recent visit to Thailand, the premier noted that it was her first bilateral visit since forming a new government. On the same day, the Under-Secretary-General of the United Nations and ESCAP Executive Secretary Armida Salsiah Alisjabana called on the prime minister. Prime Minister Thavisin formally welcomed Hasina with a guard of honour on Apr 26. Hasina joined the luncheon hosted by the Thai prime minister.
