PM 'can't stop' rally by supporters

PM 'can't stop' rally by supportersAfter chairing a meeting of the National Security Council yesterday, Prime Minister Prayut Chan-o-cha said that he could not prevent anyone from holding a rally to support the government, as long as they follow the law. He referred to the Thai Pakdee (Loyal Thai) group which is planning a rally at the Bangkok Art and Culture Centre at Pathumwan intersection in Bangkok on Sunday. The minister referred to the Royalist Marketplace page on Facebook operated by Pavin Chachavalpongpun, which contains sensitive posts about the monarchy. The page, which is now blocked in Thailand, had one million members discussing the country's king. Facebook on Tuesday indicated that requests by the government to block access to accounts breach international human rights law and affect free speech.
