The Prime Minister finally set a date for the long-awaited probe, which will begin in Spring 2022. Bereaved families and campaigners have been demanding an inquiry to ensure lessons are learned from the pandemic. The Prime Minister wants to find the right chairperson for the "hugely important" inquiry, his official spokesman said. Keir Starmer welcome the inquiry but urged the Prime Minister to engage with campaigners who have lost relatives - who he has so far refused to meet. Campaigners called for a probe into the deadly first wave of the pandemic last summer but their demands were ignored.
