Prime Minister Narendra Modi on Thursday said that consumer protection is one of the top priorities of the government. While addressing the International Conference on Consumer Protection, PM Modi also shared that a new law for consumer protection is in the making. Modi also said that the goods and services tax (GST) is giving the country a new business culture and the consumers will be the biggest beneficiary of the new indirect tax regime. DoT has also recommended for reverification at their own houses for senior citizens and people with disability and chronic illness.
