KUALA LUMPUR (Jan 20): Prime Minister Datuk Seri Najib Tun Razak said Felda Investment Corp Sdn Bhd's (FIC) restructuring is part of the Malaysian Government's effort to strengthen the Federal Land Development Authority's (Felda) investment and business arm. Najib wrote in najibrazak.com yesterday that newly-appointed Felda chairman Tan Sri Shahrir Abdul Samad's intention to revamp FIC's board of directors is in line with the Government's aim to strengthen the investment and business arm. "I believe other efforts would be made to ensure Felda's business continues to grow and records profit that would yield more benefits for settlers," Najib said. Last Tuesday, Bernama quoted Shahrir as saying he had ordered FIC's existing board members to resign to facilitate the company's reorganisation. I've asked all FIC board members to resign," he said.
