Chinese President Xi Jinping was served several traditional south Indian delicacies including Malabar Lobster and Mamsam Biryani as Prime Minister Narendra Modi hosted him for dinner on the first day of their second informal summit on Friday. The two leaders spent over two hours together with Modi first giving Jinping a tour of historical sites in Mahabalipuram. Modi and Xi took a guided tour of UNESCO World Heritage sites - Arjuna's Penance, Krishna's Butter Ball, and Pancha Rathas. The Chinese President was treated to a variety of sumptuous South Indian dishes. From Thakkali Rasam and Arachavitta Sambar to Kadalai Kuruma and Kavanarasi Halwa, the menu reflected the sweeping diversity of south Indian culinary traditions.
