In addition, PM Modi inducted new members as trustees and advisors to the PM CARES Fund’s Board. He announced the induction of leading industrialist and TATA Sons chairman emeritus Ratan Tata, former Supreme Court judge KT Thomas, and former deputy Lok Sabha speaker Kariya Munda as trustees of PM CARES Fund. Prime Minister Narendra Modi is the ex-officio chairperson of the Fund, and all contributions to the Fund are exempted from income tax. Some major initiatives of the PM CARES Fund involve PM CARES for Children, which was launched on May 29, 2021.
