ISLAMABAD: Prime Minister Imran Khan has convened an important meeting of the federal cabinet on Tuesday to discuss the recent Senate elections and the looming threat of en masse resignations and long march announced by the joint opposition under the banner of Pakistan Democratic Movement (PDM). According to informed sources, the agenda of the cabinet meeting consists of 16 points while the key meeting will also review the current political and economic situation of the country. The prime minister plans to hold consultations with his cabinet members on the PDM’s planned sit-in. The meeting will also discuss approval of the issuance of licences for prohibited weapons. The cabinet will be briefed by the Establishment Division while the approval of guidelines for the use of Social Welfare Fund, 2021, is expected.
