Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina has inaugurated the two-day 29th National Council of Bangladesh Chhatra League at the Suhrawardy Udyan in Dhaka. With the national anthem playing, the national flag and the flag of Chhatra League were hoisted as Hasina released doves and balloons during the inaugural session Friday afternoon. Also Read- Chhatra League leaders lobbying to secure top postsOutgoing Chhatra League President Saifur Rahman Sohag and General Secretary SM Jakir Hossain, and other leaders and activists of both Awami League and its student wing were present. This National Council is long-anticipated, since unlike the previous three elections, this time the organization’s central leadership would be chosen by Hasina instead of an election. The prime minister would also choose the Chhatra League leaders for the top posts of the Dhaka University, Dhaka North and South units.
