Hasina cast her vote at the Dhaka City College centre at 9:10am on Saturday. She was accompanied by her daughter Saima Wazed Hossain and ruling Awami League candidate Shafiul Islam Mohiuddin. The constituency was vacated by Sheikh Fazle Noor Taposh, a relative of Hasina, for contesting in the Dhaka city polls. Taposh was elected the Dhaka South City Corporation mayor in the Feb 1 elections. The commission has arranged hand-sanitisers for the voters to help prevent the coronavirus infections.
