"Boro rice harvesting will begin within a few days. I have ordered procurement of more rice this year from the cultivators so that they can get fair price," she said on Sunday. The premier made the announcement while addressing a videoconference with the deputy commissioners (DCs) and officials of 17 districts under Khulna and Barisal divisions. "Additional 200,000 metric ton of rice will be purchased this year compared to the previous year," she added. The videoconference began from her official residence Ganabhaban in Dhaka around 10am.
