PM Anwar condemns Islamabad mosque bombing, extends condolences to Pakistan


PETALING JAYA: Prime Minister Datuk Seri Anwar Ibrahim has condemned the bombing at a mosque in Islamabad during Friday (Feb 6) prayers, describing it as an affront to basic humanity and extending Malaysia’s condolences to the victims and their families. In a Facebook post on Saturday (Feb 7), Anwar said he was profoundly saddened by the loss of life caused by the attack. Anwar said Malaysia stood in solidarity with the people of Pakistan during this period of mourning and distress. We extend our condolences to the victims’ families and express our solidarity with all those affected by this attack,” he added. According to news reports on Friday (Feb 6), at least 31 people were killed and 169 were wounded in the bombing.
