ISLAMABAD: The Prime Minister’s Office on Friday said that no summons have been received with regards to a Supreme Court (SC) order seeking Prime Minister Shahid Khaqan Abbasi’s presence in court with regards to the case pertaining to fake degrees issued to airlines pilots. The PM Office stated that the prime minister respects the judiciary and believes in the rule of law and that if such a summons is received, the premier will appear before the court. The court was informed by Civil Aviation Authority (CAA) that 24 pilots and 67 crew members of the Pakistan International Airlines (PIA) have fake degrees. He said that 17 pilots of the national carrier have resigned or left their posts, the seven remaining are continuing on the basis of their stay order. The report submitted by Sajid Ilyas Bhatti on behalf of the CAA says that none of the pilots in the private airlines held fake degrees.
