KUALA LUMPUR (March 17): Deputy Minister in the Prime Minister's Department (Law and Institutional Reform) M Kulasegaran clarified that he was not present in court during proceedings involving activist Arun Dorasamy on Tuesday, but had only briefly met him outside the Jawi Magistrate’s Court. “I have known Arun since I represented Indira Gandhi in her legal challenge concerning her children. “I wish to clarify that I only met Arun briefly in the vicinity of the court complex before leaving. I was not present in the courtroom when the charges were read and proceedings held,” Kulasegaran said in a statement on Tuesday. Earlier, the PKR religious understanding and empowerment bureau demanded an explanation from Kulasegaran regarding his presence with Arun at the Jawi Magistrate's Court.
