February 14, 2021 by News Admin No CommentsThe Pivithuru Hela Urumaya (PHU) yesterday proposed to change the name of Sri Lanka to the Republic of Sri Lanka instead of the Democratic Socialist Republic of Sri Lanka. PHU Leader and Minister Udaya Gammanpila said the country should be democratic and socialist by action and not just by words. These proposals are included in the party’s set of proposals to be submitted for a new Constitution. Minister Gammanpila also said the unitary character of the country should be preserved at any cost.
