Typhoon “Paeng”— internationally known as “Trami” — intensified at sea on Monday afternoon, but the Philippines will only feel its impact starting Thursday, the state weather bureau said. ADVERTISEMENTIt maintained its speed of 20 kph west northwest, but it’s expected to slow down starting Tuesday. It will affect extreme Nirthern Luzon on Friday, but it might enhance the southwest monsoon over parts of Luzon and Visayas starting Thursday, Pagasa said. Storm signals may also be raised over the tip the of northern Luzon by Thursday. Pagasa earlier said that Paeng wouldn’t bring as much rainfall as “Ompong” — internationally known as “Mangkhut” — which inundated a huge part of Northern Luzon.
