KABATAAN Party-list Rep. Sarah Jane Elago was named one of the outstanding young politicians in the world. Elago was one of five politicians selected at the third annual One Young World Politician of the Year Award. The award seeks to recognize political leaders aged 18 to 35, “who are using their positions to have a positive impact on young people in their communities and countries.” The award is set to be given during the One Young World 2021 Summit in Munich on April 23-26 next year. The winners were selected by a panel of judges composed of former New Zealand Prime Minister Helen Clark, former the Netherlands Prime Minister Jan Peter Balkenende, Pakistan Senator Sherry Rehman; Tara Houska, tribal attorney and former advisor on Native American Affairs for Bernie Sanders; Thuli Madonsela ,former Public Protector and one of the writers of the South African constitution; and Yuriko Koike, current and first female Governor of Tokyo.
