Share TweetBy Merlina Hernando-MalipotThe Department of Education (DepEd) of the Philippines, led by Secretary Leonor Briones, and the Ministry of Education and Culture of the Republic of Indonesia renewed their “productive cooperation” under a Memorandum of Understanding (MOU) during a welcome dinner for Education Minister Prof. Dr. Muhadjir Effendy in Pasig City. The objective of the MOU is to promote cooperation in basic and secondary education on a reciprocal basis, and to promote collaboration in the advancement of knowledge and intellectual development. The DepEd and the Ministry of Education of Indonesia signed an MOU on Basic Education on March 8, 2011 in Jakarta, Indonesia, with a validity of five years. “I’m glad that we just signed the renewal of the MOU on education cooperation between our countries,” he said.
