The Indian government has banned the Islamic fundamentalist organization PFI (Popular Front of India) for 5 years. Along with this, many documents used for training were also found from the ‘State President’ of PFI in the state. Illegally collected cash was also found during raids at the organisation’s hideouts in Karnataka and Tamil Nadu. The organization has a significant presence in Tamil Nadu and Kerala, where the arrests of PFI leaders led to fierce violence. Earlier, the central government has banned an Islamic organization named SIMI, most of which became part of PFI.
