HOPKINTON – Slightly elevated levels of per- and polyfluoroalkyl substances (PFAS) were reported in one of the town’s eight wells. MassDEP called inThe town is working alongside MassDEP to aggressively monitor and test the wells in town, the statement said. They will also explore treatment options to mitigate PFAS levels in the water supply. "I encourage every resident and business owner to read the published materials so that [they] can understand PFAS chemicals." Boiling water will not destroy PFAS, and may result in increased levels due to evaporation of the water.
