LAHORE: The Punjab Food Authority (PFA) officials, on a recent visit to the Kot Lakhpat Jail, expressed their satisfaction over the cleanliness and food quality in the kitchen, reports a local English daily. The Punjab Food Authority (PFA) gave Kot Lakhpat Jail administrator a cash award of Rs20,000 for the maintenance of kitchen cleanliness. PFA Director General Noorul Amin Mengal—on the occasion— said that although the cleanliness of the jail kitchen is up to the mark there is still room for more improvement. Earlier, on Wednesday, 10 wedding halls and catering outlets in Lahore, Gujranwala, Sialkot and Jhelum were sealed by the PFA. PFA’s food officials visited at least 446 wedding halls and catering companies in different districts of the province and imposed penalties on 46 wedding halls for violating provincial food regulations in addition to issuing warning notices to 351 others.
