Child care costs at designated early childhood centers in PEI. Islanders currently pay between $ 27 and $ 34 per day for child care. The deal promises child care rates would drop to $ 10 per day in Prince Edward Island by 2024. The federal government has entered into similar agreements with six other provinces and one territory to reduce child care costs to $ 10 per day. But Prince Edward Island has the fastest time frame to meet that goal over the next three years.
